There are Multiple ways to install Kodi on a Android device, works with any Android device including Amazon Fire TV. In this post I will show you the easiest and fastest way to do it. I have already written about how to do this in another post but in that one you need to actually use the command line which a lot of people do not feel comfortable using. The first step is to download adblink from here<\/a>\u00a0and install the program.<\/p>\n

Before you can configure adbLink for Fire TV and Stick, there are some perquisite steps you need to perform. Follow the steps described below in order and you should be good.<\/p>\n

1. Find Fire TV\u2019s IP Address<\/span><\/h3>\n

The first thing that you need to do is find out your Fire TV\u2019s network IP address. You may refer to our detailed post on\u00a0finding Fire TV\u2019s IP address. Briefly, go to\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0->\u00a0Device<\/strong>\u00a0->\u00a0About<\/strong>\u00a0->\u00a0Network<\/strong>\u00a0and note down the IP address of your Fire TV. In my case it was 192.168.1.39.<\/p>\n

2. Enable ADB Debugging on Amazon Fire TV<\/span><\/h3>\n

Next step before you setup Fire TV on adbLink is to\u00a0enable ADB Debugging on Amazon Fire TV\u00a0(follow steps 1 to 3). This will allow you to connect adbLink to Fire TV and make modifications or sideload apps on Amazon Fire TV. To this go to\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0->\u00a0Device<\/strong>\u00a0->\u00a0Developer Options<\/strong>\u00a0and turn\u00a0ADB Debugging<\/strong>\u00a0to ON.<\/p>\n

3. Download and Install adbLink<\/span><\/h3>\n

Once your Fire TV \/ Stick is set up,\u00a0download adbLink\u00a0for your platform. In this guide, I am using adbLink on Windows.<\/p>\n

Download adbLink installer file and run it. adbLink will be extracted to a location of your choice with the\u00a0adbLink.exe<\/strong>file in it. [Read:<\/strong>\u00a05 Must try Kodi skins for Amazon Fire TV]<\/p>\n

4. Setup Fire TV Device on adbLink<\/span><\/h3>\n

The next step is adbLink device setup. Open \/ Run\u00a0adbLink.exe<\/strong>\u00a0file. If you are running this for the first time you should see nothing under \u201cCurrent Device\u201d list. Click on \u201cNew\u201d to create a new Fire TV device profile, as shown below.<\/p>\n

First, provide a description (something that will help you remember what device this is) for the device (eg. Bedroom Fire TV, Living Room AFTV, New FireTV 2015, etc.). Next, enter the network IP address of the Fire TV you are connecting to (from Step 1).<\/p>\n

\"Configure<\/a><\/p>\n

Then, browse and choose a location for Pull Folder. Pull folder is the folder on your computer where any files pulled from Fire TV are stored. This is rarely used and you may choose to leave the default location as is. Leave the rest of the options as is, unless you know what you are doing. Finally, click \u201cSave\u201d to save the device profile.<\/p>\n

5. Connect adbLink to Fire TV<\/span><\/h3>\n

Finally, you are ready to install Kodi on Amazon Fire TV and Stick, sideload other apps, or hack your Fire TV. With the newly created fire TV device profile selected in the \u201cCurrent device\u201d drop down list, click on \u201cConnect\u201d. You see the device appear under \u201cConnected devices\u201d, as shown in the picture below.<\/p>\n

That is it. You are now connected to your Fire TV device through adblink. Go ahead, configure adbLink for Amazon Fire TV and proceed.<\/p>\n

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD KODI<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are two ways to download Kodi for AFTV setup. You may download Kodi using the shortcut in adbLink File menu. First, open\u00a0adbLink<\/strong>\u00a0-> Choose\u00a0Current Device<\/strong>\u00a0from drop down -> Click\u00a0Connect<\/strong>. Next, go to\u00a0File<\/strong>->Download Kodi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
